Arts & Culture Organizations
Theatres, festivals and galleries create value that everyone feels and few can quantify. Public funders increasingly ask for the number anyway. We produce it honestly — local multipliers, net figures, defined job units — and pair it with the stories that make the case.
Questions we hear
- “What is our economic impact, in a form the city and the province will accept?”
- “How do we count jobs for a seasonal company without overstating them?”
- “Our audience survey is done. What does it tell funders?”
- “We are asking for a significant increase. What evidence do we need behind it?”
- “Can we update the number every year without hiring a consultant every year?”
What we deliver
- Economic impact studies
- A model built on region-specific multipliers rather than national averages, with displacement and substitution addressed rather than ignored.
- The narrative layer
- Interviews with local businesses and partners, so the report carries the stories that funders remember alongside the figures they check.
- Board and funder packages
- A designed report, a presentation deck and a one-page summary, ready for the meeting.
- A reusable model
- A documented spreadsheet model your administrator can refresh from ticketing and audience data each season.

Frequently asked questions
How much audience data do we need?
Less than you think. Ticket sales, postal codes for a sample of attendees and a short intercept survey usually cover it. We help design the survey if you have not run one.
How long does an impact study take?
Six to ten weeks for a first study, depending on how much primary data has to be collected. Annual refreshes with the reusable model take days, not weeks.
Can the results be published?
Yes, and they should be. Methodology is written to be published alongside the findings so the number can be checked.
